Louis Patrick Leroux is a Professor and Associate Dean of Research at Concordia University. His research focuses on Québec theatre, contemporary circus and research-creation. He has maintained a directing and playwriting practice since the early 1990s. He has also regularly taught at National Circus School in Montreal. His scholarly work on circus has been on the creative process, circus dramaturgy, social circus and art for social change, sociocultural context, cultural mediation and on the history and contemporaneity of circus. He has been a Visiting Professor or Researcher at Duke University, Charles University Prague, Universidad de Chile, Centre national des arts du cirque, Châlons-en-Champagne, Université de Toulouse and École normale supérieure de Lyon. Recent books: Contemporary Circus (Routledge) with K. Lavers et J. Burtt; Cirque Global: Québec’s Expanding Circus Boundaries (McGill-Queen’s) with C. Batson; Le jeu des positions. Discours du théâtre québécois (Nota Bene) with H. Guay.

 

Pablo Gershanik is an actor, director, and professor. A graduate of the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq, he has been an actor touring internationally for Cirque Éloize (Canada), Compagnie Philippe Genty (France), Compagnia Finzi Pasca (Switzerland/Canada) and has directed theatre and co-directed one of 7 doigts de la main Fibonacci projects. He has taught physical theatre, clown and object theatre for more than 20 years in Mexico, Argentina, and France. At the National University of San Martín in Buenos Aires, he created and has been directing the Specialization in Performance and Interpretation with Masks. He is currently an artist affiliated with Centre Quatre Paris and the Cité international des arts de Paris.

 

Hannah Claus is a Kanienkehá:ka and English visual artist who explores Onkwehón:we epistemologies as living transversal relationships through her artistic practice. A 2019 Eiteljorg fellow and 2020 Prix Giverny recipient, current exhibitions include Radical Stitch (McKenzie Art Gallery; Regina); Whetūrangitia [Made as Stars] (Dowse Art Museum; Lower Hutt, Aotearoa); and Plastic Earth (Centre Culturelle Canadienne; Paris, France). Claus is a member of Kenhté:ke, in Ontario.

 

Nuria Carton de Grammont, PhD, is an art historian, curator and lecturer at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, specializing inLatin American and Latin Canadian contemporary art. She has held twopostdoctoral fellowships from the Center for International Studies and Researchand the Department of Geography at the Université de Montréal, where she alsocoordinated the Research Network on Latin America (RÉAL). She has publishedseveral articles on Latin American art in the magazines Artediseño,Oltreoceano. Rivista sulle migrazioni, The ALHIM Papers, Fractal, Esse arts opinions, Inter, current art and Archée, and co-edited Politics, Cultureand Economy in Popular Practices in the Americas (Peter Lang, 2016). Ascurator, she presented the Gilberto Esparza exhibition: Plantasautofotosintéticas at Galerie de l’UQAM (2017) and co-directed theinstallation of Objects Personnels / Personal belongings / Objetospersonales for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts as part of the Connexions.Notre diversité artistique dialogue avec nos collections (2018-2019). Sheis currently director of the SBC Gallery of contemporary art in Montreal.

Yamoussa Bangoura is a multidisciplinary artist having started his training in circus within the Guinean troupe Circus Baobab, Yamoussa began his professional career thanks to an African and European tour of the show “The legend of the drum monkey”.​ After being spotted in Spain during one of Cirque Éloize's tours, he was recruited within the latter and participated in the creation, then in the world tour, of the show “Nomade” as an acrobat from 2002 to 2007. He joined then in 2010 the equestrian company Cavalia for the creation of the show "Odysséo" and toured with them until 2012 before being able to devote himself from now on to the projects of his company Kalabanté Productions.
