To mark Día de los Muertos, Rodríguez will host Altar Radiofónico / Radio Altar, a live broadcast of song requests and dedications to loved ones we’ve recently lost — weaving together remembrance, resilience, and community.

ABOUT RADIO MILPA

 

Launched at the opening of the exhibition, Radio Milpa is a 24/7 online radio project created by Martín Rodríguez for NOUS/OTRXS. Broadcasting continuously throughout the run of the exhibition, it relays the featured sound piece in real time, interwoven with excerpts from interviews by Rodríguez and archival material from the Chicano movement. Outside gallery hours, Radio Milpa expands into a collaborative platform, sharing content from partners such as Conseil migrant, Radio Nopal, Radio-Canada, and others.

For the finissage — and in honour of Día de los Muertos — Radio Milpa transforms into Altar Radiofónico / Radio Altar, a space of collective remembrance where the voices, songs, and dedications of the community converge to pay tribute to departed loved ones.
