Series III - Winter 2014

 

Four visits - Begins January 21st

 



SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art offers a third series in its At Home with Art program. The winter 2014 sessions consist of studio, museum and gallery visits, and focus on key contemporary movements and artists. Placing Montréal’s artistic, gallery and curatorial practices in an international and local framework, the series aims to raise awareness about local artistic creation and display.



The courses will be led by SBC director/curator Pip Day and each visit will feature a special guest. Visits will take place (in English) on the following dates from 1:30 to 3:30 pm:

 

Tuesday, January 21 – Artist Jonathan Plante and gallery Director Hugues Charbonneau will discuss Plante’s exhibition Moonwalk at Hugues Charbonneau Gallery at the Belgo Building, 372 rue Ste- Catherine Ouest, space 308.

 

Tuesday Feb 18 – Curator Barbara Clausen discusses the exhibition STAGE SET STAGE at SBC Gallery, at the Belgo Building, 372 rue Ste-Catherine Ouest, space 507.

 

Tuesday March 11th at 1:30 – Museum tour, as selected by the group.

 

Tuesday April 8th at 1:30 – Artist studio visit, details to be confirmed.

 

 

 

Price: $120 for the series of 4 visits - or $35 per individual visit.
