Jeunes commissaires

Jeunes commissaires, a cultural mediation project in collaboration with the Inter-Tribal Youth Center of the Native Friendship Center of Montreal

Fall 2015 – Summer 2016

In the fall of 2015, SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art initiated, in collaboration with the Inter-Tribal Youth Center of the Native Friendship Center of Montreal, a cultural mediation project as part of the Programme montréalais d'action culturelle. Entitled Jeunes commissaires, this project invites a group of young Inuit stone carvers to participate in a series of visits and workshops to build bridges with the Montreal art scene and to develop tools for the pursuit of their artistic practice. Jeunes commissaires is coordinated by the cultural mediator Amélie Brindamour.

This project is generously supported by the ministère de la Culture et des Communications and the Ville de Montréal as part of the Entente sur le développement culturel de Montréal.
