On Sept 27, join us at SBC for a screening of CBC's In the Making Episode 2, featuring artist Walter Scott. This episode follows Scott through his life and practice, and includes footage of the performance Wendy Goes to Hell, filmed during Nuit Blanche 2019 at SBC. Doors will open at 6 PM, screening at 7 PM.

 

In the Making is an immersive journey inside the creative processes of Canada’s leading artists. The award-winning CBC Arts documentary series, now in its second season, features groundbreaking and iconoclastic artists from across the creative spectrum as they realize provocative and poignant works of art. 

 

Walter Scott’s Wendy comics, depicting the hilarious and tender misadventures of an aspiring young artist, have been published by the New Yorker; received international acclaim; and gained a dedicated fanbase. Host Sean O’Neill joins Walter as he goes home to Kahnawá:ke, where he first started drawing comics as a kid, and as he prepares to debut some of the material from his new book in a performance in Montreal, the city where Wendy was born. The “Wendy-verse” is woven throughout the episode, with animations created by Walter that bring Wendy to lo-fi yet remarkably vivid life.
