INFORMATION

We invite you to a listening action through the Mont Royal guided by transmission and sound artist Martín Rodríguez. With his Oído de Díos (God’s ear), a speculative antenna that fuses the Huichol woven design known as Ojo de Díos (God’s eye) with a traditional loop antenna into one large fractal antenna, Rodríguez will guide listeners to gather and observe the sounds conjured by the antenna along the mountainside.

Ojos de Dios are believed to have the power to see the unseen similar to how an antenna functions with sound and radio. By way of this antenna one listens to the ability for sound to embody the presence and the stories of ancestors. Through this collective gesture of walking and listening, Rodriguez invites the public to acknowledge the presence of that which lies beyond human perception by listening for the more-than-human spirits of the mountain.
