1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Walk and sound meditation

guided by Martín Rodríguez

Free, RSVP at

** Note : We will gather at 1:00 pm at The Grand Staircase of Mount Royal (Chemin Le Serpentin, Montréal, Québec H3H 1A2), before proceeding into the Mount Royal Park for the session. We will then walk to the SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art to conclude the gathering with some tea and snacks.

Important : The outdoor session will last nearly two hours, we ask you to dress warmly. In the event of rain, the gathering will be rescheduled for Sunday, November 18th, from 1pm to 4pm.

We invite you to a listening action through the Mont Royal guided by transmission and sound artist Martín Rodríguez. With his Oído de Díos (God’s ear), a speculative antenna that fuses the Huichol woven design known as Ojo de Díos (God’s eye) with a traditional loop antenna into one large fractal antenna, Rodríguez will guide listeners to gather and observe the sounds conjured by the antenna along the mountainside.

Ojos de Dios are believed to have the power to see the unseen similar to how an antenna functions with sound and radio. By way of this antenna one listens to the ability for sound to embody the presence and the stories of ancestors. Through this collective gesture of walking and listening, Rodriguez invites the public to acknowledge the presence of that which lies beyond human perception by listening for the more-than-human spirits of the mountain.
