Alexander McLean, beekeeper at Alvéole, will discuss the remarkable internal organization of the beehive while forging links with the operation and power structures of our own society. Both a discussion and an interactive tour of Anna Boghiguian’s current exhibition, the conference will aim to better understand the lifestyle and behavior of bees, creatures that, while small, have a vital role in our survival.

Honey tasting 

 

The conference will be followed by a tasting of the local honeys of Montréal and an exploration of the 230 honeycombs from urban beehives currently installed in the gallery.
