Critical Writing Workshop
Winter 2015
Between February and May 2015, SBC will be offering a four-month critical writing workshop.The workshops will take place on two Monday evenings per month starting on February 23 and running through May 25, 5:30-9pm.
The program is designed to offer participants the opportunity to meet over a sustained period of time with a group of peers in order to develop their critical writing skills in the field of visual art criticism.
Workshops are offered bilingually in English and French (whisper translation available on demand).
The workshops are free of charge.
Submission Deadline: December 1, 2014.

- A two-page letter of intent explaining your interest in the workshop and what you hope to contribute to and to gain from participating;
- A recent writing sample (no more than 500 words)
Curatorial Workshop
Winter 2015
January 23, 2015 5:30-9pm and January 24, 2015 10-5pm.
This 2-day intensive curatorial workshop is designed to offer 10 participants the opportunity to meet with a group of peers in order to discuss and develop individual projects and to explore theoretical and practical questions as they relate to curatorial work.
Participants will be expected to attend both sessions and should be prepared to formally present their own projects and analyse colleagues' projects. All participants should provide, in advance, any relevant theoretical or other texts and/or materials they see as important to further discussion and should read and review all materials provided by others.
This workshop is offered bilingually in English and French (whisper translation available on demand) and will be led by SBC Director/Curator Pip Day. Applicants can submit an application in either English or French.
The workshops are free of charge.
